
Sun Yat-sen University (China) is one of the key universities directly under the Ministry of Education of China.
It is also a multi-disciplinary tertiary institution achieving the state projects of "985” and "211”, ranking as one of the leading universities in China and at the top in South China.
Sun Yat-sen University offers an extensive range of curricula covering the fields of humanities, sciences, medicine and engineering. Altogether there are 42 schools, of which 23 are in liberal arts, 14 in sciences and engineering, and 5 in medical sciences. Besides, there are 8 affiliated hospitals, which include 4 general hospitals and 4 specialized ones in ophthalmology, cancer, stomatology and gastroenterology.
The University has a total number of 54,469 students, including 3,200 international students. Sun Yat-sen University has a team of 13,846 faculty and staff (including the personnel working in the affiliated hospitals), of whom 6,691 are faculty members, with 1,138 international faculty members from more than 41 countries and regions, accounting for about 17% of the faculty population.
The University covers a total area of 6.17 square kilometers and has 4 campuses: Guangzhou South Campus, Guangzhou North Campus, Guangzhou East Campus, and Zhuhai Campus.
Sun Yat-sen University is located in Guangdong, neighboring Hong Kong and Macau, and is active in international academic exchange. It has successfully developed international cooperation and exchange with 218 global partnerships in America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa.
